FAQ
No. ICF requires mentor coaching with a qualified mentor coach, and CoachRocks does not count toward it. It handles the mechanical part: transcript preparation and basic slips such as stacked or leading questions, advice-giving, or an agreement marker not observed. It does not do a student’s reflection: a report drafted against your reflection form is a draft they edit, and your program can choose not to use it. Judgment on presence, mindset and the client’s growth stays with your mentors and assessors.
No. CoachRocks is an independent practice and self-check tool, not part of ICF’s credentialing. It reviews each coaching session against ICF’s published instrument for the student’s level—20 ACC behavioral statements, 37 PCC markers or 21 MCC behavioral statements—and counts competencies by the two-thirds rule on ICF’s Competency Review Forms, a mentor-path count, since ICF does not publish its assessors’ threshold. It predicts no pass. A Custom Report can write against another framework, such as an ICC model, but that is a report, not a marked rubric. CoachRocks is not affiliated with or endorsed by the ICF.
Sessions and client details are encrypted in transit and at rest (AES-256-GCM, under a key for each account), and closing an account destroys that key. Before a transcript is sent to the AI model, client names and email addresses are replaced with placeholders and speaker labels become Coach and Client; names are restored on our side. A nickname, or a name said aloud, can still reach the transcript. We never train AI on your sessions, and OpenAI and Soniox state in their API terms that customer content is not used to train their models. Automatic client emails are off by default, and an uploaded file never emails a client. Students can export everything at any time. Under the Data Processing Agreement the coach is the controller and CoachRocks the processor; How we handle session data lists every provider.
Three ways, none with a bot in the room. Record in the browser: it uses the student’s microphone, so it suits in-person sessions and calls on a closed portal such as Strawberry.me’s video room, played on speakers (headphones keep the other voice out). Upload a recording as .mp3, .m4a or .mp4, up to 180 minutes: a voice memo, a recorded phone call, or a WeChat or Tencent Meeting session. Or upload a transcript as .docx, .txt, .vtt or .srt. Reviews and reports come in English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese; the app is in English and Traditional Chinese.
Everyone keeps their account and their work, whether or not the academy continues. Sessions, transcripts, ICF reviews, Custom Reports and logged hours stay readable, and the export—a ZIP of transcripts, analyses, ICF reviews and notes, with the hours log as a CSV—has no plan gate. To keep reviewing new sessions, the academy agrees a cohort arrangement with us, or students choose their own plan: Starter or Coach. Nothing is charged during the pilot, and no card is needed.
